Lamb

Somebody said that lamb stinks, I think it was Kalyann? Anyway, I had lamb last week in place of steak, and I know what she means now. It has this strong smell. I charcoal grilled it, dipped my lamb in tirk prohok, ymm quite tasty. It's fuller than beef and easier to chew.

Any ideas to lessen the smell? I suppose I can clean the lamb meant with lemon juice.

You can keep it in icy water for a couple of days in the refrigerator. Change the water a few times a day.
The smell mostly comes from the fat, so trim away the fat before you marinate your lamb.
Chinese always add some vinegar in lamb and it also makes the lamb softer.
Marinate the lamb for about two hours in lemon juice, it should do the trick too. :D

thanks Hunnie. I use lemon juice to clean meat. but sometimes it changes the taste of the meat/fish, making it sour. wonder if vinegar will do the same... i'll test out the ice water idea for a change.
