go down the list of xda to find your smartphone :). Which smartphone u planning to root (hack)?

Make sure u have latest java and latest smartphone driver installed.
Download this "adb fastboot.zip" and extract to C: drive
Now you can start reading at xda. All smartphone use the same adb files attached.

To use adb, you need to run in cmd as admin. Then at prompt, type cd c:\adb fastboot <enter> adb fastboot is a folder or if you rename your folder to just fastboot or whatever, you would type in cmd as cd c:\your folder name

cool...I'll look into all this stuff when I get a chance...all interesting stuff...so this is "IT" ?? I'm so interested to learn...

I'm not a PC enthusiastic like most of you on here but my current notebook is a:

Asus N56V
Intel Core i7 2.3Ghz
8GB Ram
GeForce GT 650M GPU

Hate me but I'm running Windows 8 and don't plan on upgrading to Windows 7 lol. I will be sticking with the Windows 8 ecosystem including with my next windows 8 phone and Xbox one.

Not a PC gamer here...console for life. :)

I highly recommend PC gaming. Been a console gamer since I was a kid, but realize you can save so much money on games and put the extra cash into your hardware, that was the reason why I turned to PC gaming, I got tired of paying for new games. Now I have access to all the new games, duty-free, and run those games on ultra setting. Furthermore, PC hardware is upgradeable unlike console, having to wait for next-generation releases which is, every 8 years, may I say damn, that's a shame. Also, machine-versatility is another reason to opt for building your dream machine. Outside the scope of gaming, your pc can also run as a high-performance video and photo editor, music recording studio, media center, home theater, and office. Did I mention you can upgrade the component every year as technology improves?

Still, I love consoles. I had begged my uncle to buy me a PSone and had it the very first day it was released in stores. My first PSone game I ever owned was Ridge Racer! When the Xbox 360 came out, I wanted one so bad that I'd sold my Acura Intergra for it, just so I can play Battlefield 2. (Yeah I'm crazy like that.) They are apart of history, apart of my history, and I dont' have problems with people being attached to their consoles. I'm actually in love with my ps3 as much as I love chasing woman. It's probably the best piece of electronic equipment I ever laid eyes upon. Japanese people are quite niffy, aren't they?

I think I would've been into PC gaming if I was into FPS sooner. I only started to like FPS since Goldeneye 007 for the N64, then deeply in loved with Halo CE. I would consider PC for MMO like Phantasy Star Online though.

You mentioned the positive aspect of upgrading, which is what I hate about PC gaming lol. But it's true, consoles will never be able to outperform PC...just never. At the same time, I feel that console games are holding technology back -- I mean, the Xbox 360 and PS3 are like 8 years old in tech? I read somewhere that the Xbox One and PS4 could be the last consoles and we could be moving to something more on demand or cloud based?

From my understanding, the Xbox One and PS4 will have cloud computing. Its a mix of traditional Disc based games and Cloud based.

As far as PC games go, I built this PC here for Final Fantasy XIV. :)

Yeah both consoles will have cloud computing and Xbox One will have it on day one with Forza 5. I heard Microsoft has spent about $8 billion dollars on their Azure cloud servers, which is the second biggest in the world behind Amazon's.

Btw, FFXIV is a re-launch right? When is it coming out? I'm kinda tired of waiting for Sega to release Phantasy Star Online 2 in the west so maybe I'll look into Final Fantasy instead. :)

Only problem I have with Xbox is the DRM issue, and Kinect always has to be on. As for Final Fantasy XIV, It comes out August 27th, but if you pre-order you can get early access. I've been playing it since Alpha, and I have to say that I like it very much.

I can see the issues with DRM although I prefer to go full digital, but Microsoft did reverse their DRM's decision. I don't have any issues with the Kinect in regarding to privacy. Our internet usage, mobile phones, credit cards, etc. contain much more valuable information and track-able by the government as desired. The little amazing things that the new Kinect can do, like scanning me in Killer Instinct 3 and recognizing my controller set up is quite neat and could be useful when playing with a bunch of local friends without having to annoyingly change the settings after each match. No doubt I'll be getting both consoles down the road, just the X1 first.

I have never played FFXI...maybe if my laptop can handle XIV, I'll give it a try. :D

Thanks Rock.

Unfortunately my laptop struggle at max resolution (1920x1080) at medium graphics presets with score of 1940. But can run fine at 720p with medium presets and score of 3213.

You got $498.99 to buy a hard drive?.... You need to order you a hard drive from Japan,
you need a Japan Graphics Card club3D radeon HD 7870XT JokerCard,
Then you need Japan Sound Card Logitech Z-Cinema 2.1 Speaker (USB) 180 watt Ram,
You need a hard drive, Graphics Card, Sound Card, that you have to pay about $800.00 lol and it take about 5hr to put it in to your PC
And you have to make a big change in your PC
like you have to make a new port system for PS1,2,3 game, and a new port for XBox game
Then you have to put in a Input and Output
